We hope you will learn about Brazil and its music and culture. Brazilian week was created to unite all Brazilians and friends of Brazil in Tucson, through our love of the Arts.

The first Tucson Brazilian Week took place in September 2008. The event was kicked off by Mayor Bob Walkup, who proclaimed the first week of September as "Semana Brasileira".

The first year event sparkled interest about Brazilian arts and culture in Tucson and we hope to continue to disseminate the Brazilian culture for many years to come during the "Semana Brasileira". We are envision a full-fledge Festival of Arts and Culture of Brazilian in the future, where the whole city of Tucson, joins the Brazilian Community to celebrate their independence and learn about this great South American country.

To celebrate the Brazilian Independence from Portugal, the Tucson Brazilian Week Committee collaborates with the UofA, Pima Community College, the local Brazilian Community, and local restaurants to present music, dance, movies, arts and crafts exhibition and a sample of the best Brazilian culinary.

The first 2008 Tucson Brazilian Week was sponsored by Assistech and Contemporânea, with logistic support from the Mayor's Office, Pima Community College, the Cultural Exchange Council of Tucson, Hotel Congress, and the Brazilian Community of Tucson.

We invite you to visit our pages and learn about our first Tucson Brazilian Week. The 2009 TWB promises to bring a lot good Brazilian music, movies, a food. Please check our 2009 calendar of event. Please join us in 2009 to celebrate one more year of Brazilian independence!

Viva a independencia do Brasil!

"Muito Obrigado",
